Also showing is  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rottentomatoes.com\/m\/between_two_worlds_2021\">Between Two Worlds,<\/a> directed by Emmanuel Carr\u00e8re and starring, as seems mandatory for most French films released here, Juliette Binoche. She plays a writer who goes undercover as a cleaner on a cross-channel ferry, to do research on low-paid work. Unsurprisingly, the real workers become suspicious of her cover story and frictions develop. (PW)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I saw it at CIFF and was bored for quite a long time, due to the excessive <em>auto-fictiona<\/em>l naval-gazing of the characters, who couldn&#8217;t change a duvet cover without discussing the role of bedlinen in French society. But after a while it soured nicely and became funny, thought-provoking and ultimately quite revealing about\u2026\u00a0French society. And it&#8217;s not every day you see one of Europe&#8217;s cultural aristocrats in Marigolds scrubbing a toilet pan (pictured above, looking ferry foughtful). Olivia Colman, what&#8217;s keeping you? (JM)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-guildhall\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gloucesterguildhall.co.uk\/live-events?category=FILM\">The Guildhall<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Elvis<\/em> and <em>Swan Song<\/em> carry on, and are joined by <em>Good Luck to You Leo Grande<\/em>, and at the very end of the week <em>Jurassic World: Dominion<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Guildhall will then close from July 17<sup>th<\/sup> until mid- September, for development works in the building. Nothing new at all, with <em>Thor<\/em> at the top of the pile of predictability.
